If any design solution needed a spicy, creative treatment, it's a design for a chili contest. And that's what was called for when it came to branding the annual San Diego Ceramic Connection's CHiLiPALooZA and Pottery Sale. What began as a very local and casual affair has mushroomed into a major fundraising event that helps out the local education community.

Having more wide-spread appeal has created the need to develop a unique brand, bringing together the elements of pottery, chili competition, and fundraising for educational causes—all with the emphasis on fun. The design is immediately recognizable as a whimsical adventure into the cultures of the people sponsoring the event and has created a special brand experience.
